Pandy Arthur
Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and Renata Holm have strongly influenced Pandy’s love of operetta through listening to their recordings of singing operetta when she was a teenager. Not long ago, whilst attending a singing course in Vienna, Pandy was urged to "take operetta to Scotland" because of her interpretation and presentation of the melodies. Having obtained music from Germany and Austria she now regularly sings operetta arias as solo items or as duets with other artists at concerts throughout Scotland, including the annual Viennese evening held by The Deeside Orchestra of Aberdeenshire. Having seen and heard Richard Sidaway singing at a concert and being impressed by his natural flare for singing operetta she invited him to form a duo. They are now successfully presenting lively, humourous and charming Viennese programmes in full costume. Programmes include songs by Lehar, Kalman, Strauss, Heuberger and other contemporary composers.
