Pandy Arthur, versatile opera and light opera singer based in Royal Deeside Scotland

Although christened Angela she derives her unusual name from an Andy Pandy book which was given to her at the age of three. Angie / Angie Pangie / Andy Pandy / Pandy ..... or so they say, though some may say Pandemonium would be a more appropriate derivative! Pandy spent six years of her childhood living on the Summer Isles in Wester Ross and it was there, through singing in the Mods, that she started her successful career as a singer.

Pandy trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow and is now in much demand as a soloist for Oratorio and Choral Society concerts and as a guest artist for Burns Suppers, Weddings and Anniversaries. Pandy has appeared regularly at festival concerts and sung with many well known Scottish artists including George Donald, Donald Maxwell and Peter Alexander Wilson.

The versatility of Pandy's voice and her broad interest and experience in singing songs from a variety of music styles has enabled her to create a rich and interesting repertoire. Amongst special requests are arias from French, German and Italian opera; Oratorios such as Mozart's Requiem; Sacred songs including 'Panis Angelicus' and Scottish and Gaelic Songs. She has some 'Old Favourites' including Malloy's ' Love's Old Sweet Song' and many other popular songs from the Shows. Viennese operetta is a particular favourite of hers - 'Im Chambre Separée' by Richard Heuberger remaining one of the Top of the Pops!

As well as performing as a solo artist Pandy works with a trio comprising a guest pianist with Flautist, Margaret Preston. They present rich, haunting and nostalgic programmes comprising music by an eclectic mix of composers, she also presents sparkling Viennese programmes full of romance and humour.

Recent engagements include her appearance as Eliza Vestriss in the premiere performance of the musical, Silverthorpe in Aberdeen. She has recently started giving singing performances with the Ballater and District Pipe Band at Burns Suppers and weddings. She also just recorded a track with a classical touch for the internationally renowned rock band, Pallas whose latest album was released in October 2005.
